Demand of skilled workers offers chances for market entry
Every second IT company sees the shortage of qualified staff as hindering for the development of their business. This is a good time to enter the German market as an IT services company from a neighboring country, says bloodsugarmagic.
The lack of skilled personnel in the IT sector is still the biggest obstacle for the development of the market. This show the latest numbers of a survey published by the German high-tech association BITKOM.
Every second company (52 percent) suffers from shortage of skilled workers and sees the situation on the German IT market as “hindering” or “very hindering” for their business because the domestic demand is there and the companies need staff to do the work.
The number of companies that want to hire staff has again increased. 68 percent of the companies questioned are planning to create additional jobs in 2015 (2014: 63 percent), only 5 percent foresee workforce reductions (2014: 7 percent).
While this trend is troublesome for the German IT companies, it is a chance for companies of the neighboring foreign countries to fill the gap of missing appropriate personnel – at least temporarily. The German IT industry is looking abroad to find qualified staff and resourcing partners.
“The shortage of skilled IT staff is a great opportunity especially for foreign companies in the IT services sector”, says Bernd Hoeck, managing partner of the go-to-market specialist bloodsugarmagic. “It is crucial to be visible on the market – at least virtually – to engage in cooperations and joint ventures with German companies.”
